I have "dabbled" with running my whole life but never really committing to it. When I got engaged in August 2005, I committed to losing weight and living a healthier lifestyle. Running was not really part of that until December 2006. My Sister in Law asked me to ran the Disney Half Marathon with her. Since I was new to the family and eager to please I said yes. I had not run more than 3 miles before. I found a training plan and committed to it. I was hooked. By the time, I ran the 2008 Disney World Half Marathon, I had already ran several 5ks, a 4 miler, a 5 miler and a half. I completely caught the running bug. After the Disney half, I completed several other races of varying distances including another half.
Around April 2009, I took a hiatus from running to have my wonderful son, L Boogie. He is the joy our lives and makes parenting a true adventure. Learning to juggle being a wife and working mother was hard and the hiatus from running was longer than I thought. I ran a couple race here and there including another half but was not really serious about running.
October 2010, I decided to recommit myself to running and decided to train for my first full marathon in May 2011.
